Senior Communications Technician

Lightspeed Communications Australia is a Perth based company whose expertise lies in the design, installation and maintenance of structured cabling and fibre optic communication networks. Our focus on excellence, attention to detail and our flexibility has contributed to our reputation as leaders in this niche field.

Due to the growing customer base and expansion of Lightspeed, the need has arisen for an additional Senior Communications Technician. Experience in the communications industry is essential, with Company specific training provided. This role involves labour intensive work and requires an enthusiastic person who is fit and is able to undertake manual tasks.  Attention to fine details, ability to pass a colour vision test and the ability to complete work to an impeccable standard is important.  The Senior Technician is also required to manage and train junior technicians. We are looking for a mature, self motivated and goal oriented person with a positive attitude.

The successful applicant will be joining a friendly, fun and motivated team with the long term possibility of advancement.

The position being offered is Full Time Permanent 38 hours per week with overtime. We are seeking an applicant with flexibility around working hours. Although this position is based in Perth, it will require the ability to travel interstate and to remote sites from time to time.

Essential skills

  • 3-5 years experience in the Communications Cabling industry
  • Experience in the Building and Construction industry
  • Building and Construction Industry Blue/White Card qualification
  • Austel License
  • Vendor Certification (eg Krone, Molex, Systimax)
  • Elevated Workplace License
  • Proficient ability to use hand and power tools
  • Manual C-Class Drivers License.
  • The ability to distinguish colours.
  • Be proficient in the operation of screen based equipment and knowledge of using a Windows based computer (Such as MS Office - Word and Excel) with internet access.
  • Current Senior First Aid
  • The ability to pass a WA Police Clearance.
  • The ability to pass a Full Medical (including Drug and Alcohol Screening) upon employment and as required.

Junior Communications Technician

Due to the growing customer base and expansion of Lightspeed, the need has arisen for an additional Technician. Experience in the communications industry is not essential as on the job training along with Nationally Accredited Courses which will be provided. We are looking for a mature, self motivated, goal oriented person with a vision for gaining a long term career with Lightspeed Communications.

The successful applicant will be joining a friendly, fun and motivated team with the long term possibility of advancement. Upon employment the applicant will be teamed with experienced Senior Technicians to begin their workplace training.

Finance & Administration Officer

Lightspeed Communications Australia is a Perth based company whose expertise lies in the design, installation and maintenance of structured cabling and fibre optic communication networks. Our focus on excellence, attention to detail and our flexibility has contributed to our reputation as leaders in this niche field.

We are currently seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and dynamic person to join our fast passed exceptional team as a Finance/Administration Officer, based at our East Osborne Park office.

The successful applicant will be joining a friendly, fun and motivated team with the long term possibility of advancement.

The Finance/Administration Officer must have a solid background in accounting and will be responsible for the billing of customers, processing of customer receipts, account management, payment of supplier bills, processing of employee pays, bank reconciliations and generation of monthly reports and more.

The role will include but not be limited to the following duties:

Essential

  • Data entry into MYOB accounting system
  • Aged receivables and aged payables
  • Month end reconciliation
  • Job profit and loss reports
  • Maintenance of weekly cash flow forecast
  • Generation of all month end management reports, including performance dashboard
  • Payroll processing
  • Monthly BAS and GST return processing
  • Maintenance and improvement of all bookkeeping/finance procedures
  • Provide backup support to Administration Assistant and Administration Manager as required
  • Any other duties as required

To be successful for this position you will need:

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar position
  • Experience in performing financial/bookkeeping duties
  • High standard of computing skills required
  • Office 2010 (advanced Word, Excel, Power point)
  • Financial Software (MYOB desirable)
  • Internet and Email (advanced)
  • Accounting and bookkeeping knowledge
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel spreadsheet skills
